1 Continuity: The structure of dynasties
The political structure in China evolves over time in varying Dynasties. Once the people of China saw success in the way of ruling their people, they continued with it. In addition to this, the Chinese culture was heavily based off of traditions (Mandate of Heaven) which results in not much change. Religion in China was an important aspect in their culture, as well as politics. The Mandate of Heaven would chose who was the leader. The Xiu (21st-17th century BC) → Shang (17th century BC BC) → Zhou ( BC) → Qin ( BC) → Han (202 BC AD) → Tang ( AD) → Song ( AD) → Yuan ( AD) → Ming ( AD) . Change: The change was the invasion of the Mongols into China, infiltrating their lives with a foreign rule. Before mongols - Tribute system = superior expectations During Mongols = tribute system changed the reputation and power level of China making them inferior to the Mongols The society was affected in terms of the everyday life and who could hold what positions as connected to Confucian beliefs (also, a patriarchal society). Buddhism and Taoism was held with high respect and in most cases, it'd be considered a crime to follow a different religion then the dominant one at the time.
