4. Let’s try a trick!
Choose a two digit number e.g. 34, 87, …...
Add the two digits together e.g = 7
Subtract this number from your original two digit number e.g. 34 – 7 = 27
This answer is your magic number.
Don’t share it with anyone else!

7. Carl Friedrich Gauss
Gauss was born in He went on to become one of the most important mathematicians in history.
The most famous story about Gauss is about the first time his aptitude for mathematics was recognised. He was eight years old.

8. Gauss’ class was set the following problem by their teacher:
Add up all of the integers from 1 to 100.
The class were told to come to the front and put their chalk tablet on the teachers desk once they had finished.

15. A man had 3 sons. He decided that when he died all of his possessions should be shared in the following way:
A half of his possessions were to go to his eldest son
A third of his possessions were to be given to the next.
His youngest son was to receive one ninth of his possessions.
