Safety Tips for Thunderstorms
As soon as you hear thunder, go indoors! Stay away from windows. Stay away from water- no showers, no washing dishes. Don’t use electrical appliances with cords. Cell phones and cordless phones are okay. Wait until at least 30 minutes before going outside again.

Pick a safe room in your house or apartment. Stay away from windows. Go to a small center room (like a bathroom or closet), if there is one. Use bicycle helmets or a mattress for protection. If your apartment is not safe, plan ahead for another location to go to. Make a plan with your family this week!
