10 why “Open”? unlike closed online college systems, the OpenLab allows members across the college to communicate with one another and the world outside City Tech Jody – What is open pedagogy? Why is it beneficial?

11 why “Lab”? like a lab, it provides a space where faculty and students can work together, experiment, and innovate Jody

12 goals for the OpenLab _ make the curriculum visible to students
_ encourage connections across the college _ empower students to take ownership of their work _ offer a virtual space for collaboration & learning for the entire City Tech community Charlie: - Making entire curriculum visible to all City Tech and beyond Students making connections, presenting their best work, opportunities to expand audience for their work beyond the walls of the classroom Our campus is small, our college is large, virtual place-based learning can help strengthen our community
