1 Who fought in the French and Indian War?
The British and the French – each side was helped by the native Americans.

2 Why were they fighting? Both countries wanted disputed land in the Ohio River Valley – Colonists invaded French territory.

5 Why did Britain start taxing the colonists?
They were in debt from the French and Indian War and expected the colonies to help pay for it.

Why did the British pass the Proclamation of 1763? Why did it make the colonists angry? To keep peace with the Native Americans – Colonists were angry they won land after the war but couldn’t move into it
