2 Agenda Why Packaging? Package Types
Creating "parent" and “child” courses Fee Setup for each type Package registration process Package cancellation process Package reporting

3 NOTE: Packaging is an Add-On
Packaging Module is: $ 1,695 To check if you have it: Help/ About Student Manager Show Optional Modules

4 Why Packaging? Why?? Offer packages that save students money
On Web: ensure that student gets enrolled in all courses in package. Easier registration Increased sales Why?? To automate enrollment, improve retention build brand loyalty, simplify certificate program registration and MAKE MONEY! ! !

5 Package Types Type 1: fee is for the entire set of courses in the package (no fees on individual courses) Type 2: a discount on each course when purchasing the package

6 Package Types All package fees are set up on the "parent" course
A package rate is set up on each "child" course

7 This is important! Think through package courses before
entering anything in Student Manager. The old "Measure Twice, Cut Once" applies (consult your tech/help guide PRN)

8 The Case for Package 1 Where you might have many optional fees,
(that may or may not apply) Where payments may be complicated/convoluted (Paying on Payment Plan, Third Party billings, Scholarships, etc) Where the focus is on the “Program” not the classes (Professional program: Dental Assistant, CNA, Phlebotomy Assistant, etc) You may choose to report “Mother Course” or the “Child Courses”

9 Examples: Package 1

10 The Case for Package 2 More about the classes .. (than the “Program”)
Opportunity to focus on groups of existing courses (Re-Packaging existing Courses) Offer Discounts for buying multiple classes May be used to bundle Courses in a “ Certificate” The “Mother Course” is a “Trojan Course” does not “really” exist. Just holds the child courses together.

11 TIP!!! Regardless of bundling type, set a default package registration fee description in Registration Preferences .

12 Examples: Package 2

When you save the course, the Package Courses button becomes available. This is where you add the "child" courses.
