AOW Discussion (if time permits…will move to next week if not) Reminders: Your digital media presentations are due/being presented next Thursday, 9/22! There will be no more class time to work on them. Today is GAME DAY: Varsity 7pm

Peer Editing – Step One (PFO)
Highlight the Main Claim and mini-claims for each paragraph GREEN Circle anytime the paper uses I, You, We, Us Put a Box around the transitional words/phrases for each paragraph If anything sounds confusing, bracket [ ] the confusing part and add a question mark ? Underline opinion words (perfect, excellent, wonderful, great, best, etc). Does the essay make sense? ___________ Is the essay ordered appropriately? __________ Missing any paragraphs? ___________________

Peer Editing – Step Two (E&E)
Highlight Claim-Evidence (examples) YELLOW Is there evidence from both sources? ___________ (If no, then automatically no higher than a 2 on E&E) Highlight Commentary (explanation/discussion/elaboration) BLUE Is the commentary actually related to the Claim Evidence? _______________ Does it support the mini-claim for the paragraph? ____________ Does it support the main claim? ____________

Delete unnecessary word Start a new paragraph Capitalize letter awk Awkward/Reword Insert frag Fragment/Incomplete Sentence Unparalleled phrase (ie plural and singular) Misspelled word Are there any patterns of errors? __________________

Peer Editing – Step Four (Scoring)
Review proofreading marks and rubric, then score the rough draft (use your rubric/adjectives worksheet to do this): PFO: /4 E&E: /4 CoS: /2 Total: /10 Staple this Proofreading sheet to the front of the essay and return to owner. Owner: Write one paragraph explaining what you would have changed had you been given the opportunity, staple it to the back of the original and turn in to bin.
