6 Scheduling Work Pharmacist : pharmacy technicians ratio is 1:4
Based on time demanded interval : during peak hours, weekday or weekend. ex: lunch time, after work hours has more demand than early morning or late at night Dividing work to stations or sections based on demanded and skill ex: “Fast on the back and slow up front.” Vacation needs to be scheduled 3 months in advance Rotate weekend shift to every other week

9 Balancing Workload3, 4 There are many duties for pharmacy technicians.
Drop off/pick up, patient care, filling, drive-through, making/answering phone calls, re-stocking, etc. Finite manpower; must be placed efficiently to where needed Assign specific job to technicians; hold them accountable for their duties Set up a workflow Ex.- tech #1 greets the patient and receives Rx→ tech #2 fills Rx → tech #3 rings the patient up Focus on assigned tasks, but know when to step in "Pharmacy Technician Job Description." 10 Measuring Productivity
Define metrics that will be used ex. scripts filled per hour, adherence calls per hour etc. Set a baseline/goals must have an initial point of measurement for reference Track productivity using spreadsheets or reports Measure individual work and teamwork Some employees are more productive in teams
