1 Satan is our adversary. He works to destroy us through trials and afflictions, illness and pain, false doctrine, and fleshly temptations. With God’s help we can stand against Satan and be victorious.

2 What does Satan’s name tell us about him?
The name Satan means “adversary” The Hebrew noun is sometimes used to refer to a human adversary (1 Samuel 29:4; 2 Samuel 19:22; Kings 11:14; 25) But “Satan” is the proper name that is given in Scripture to our spiritual adversary (2 Cor. 11:3, 14; Rev. 12:9; 20:2)

3 Satan is a Relentless Enemy of the Souls of Men
He is like a lion (1 Peter 5:8; Job 1:6-11) He works to produce accusations against us… By sending trials & afflictions (Rev. 12:13; 2:10) By oppressing us with illness & pain (Acts 10:38; 2 Corinthians 12:7) By deceiving with false doctrine (2 Thess. 2:9-10;1 Corinthians 10:20; 1 Timothy 4:1) By luring us to do his will instead of God’s will (Genesis 3; Matthew 4:1-11; 1 Thessalonians 3:5; Chronicles 21:1)

4 Satan need not have the Victory in Your Life!
Those he has taken captive can be liberated! (2 Timothy 2:24-26) With God’s help we can stand against Satan! (Ephesians 6:11-12; Romans 8:38-39; 1 Timothy 3:6)
