4 Chapter 9: 24-27 v.24- Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain. v.25- And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible. v.26- I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air: v.27- But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.

7 1 Corinthians 9 vs. 24- all run in a race, but one wins the prize
vs. 25- everyone that strives for mastery has self-restraint, but they do it for a corrupt crown, but we do it for an incorruptible crown vs. 26- Paul therefore runs, not without knowing the object of his aim, so he fights, not just beating the air for nothing vs. 27- Paul brings his body into subjection so when he preaches to others he will not be unfit or disqualified

8 1 Corinthians 10 vs. 1- Paul wanted them to know their fathers were under a cloud; passed through the sea vs. 2- they were baptized unto Moses in the cloud/sea vs. 3- they ate the same spiritual food vs. 4- they drank the same spiritual drink vs. 5- God was not pleased with them; overthrew them in the wilderness

9 1 Corinthians 10 vs. 6- these are examples, don’t lust as they did
vs. 7- don’t be idolaters as some were vs. 8- don’t be fornicators as some were, 23,000 died in one day vs. 9- don’t tempt Christ as some did and were killed by snakes vs. 10- neither murmur as some did

11 1 Corinthians 10 vs. 11- again Paul says these are examples, written for their/our admonition vs. 12- if you think you stand, take heed lest you fall vs. 13- everyone faces temptations, God is faithful and won’t allow you too be tempted above what you are able to withstand, God will provide a way of escape vs. 14- flee idolatry vs. 15- judge what I say

12 1 Corinthians 10 vs. 16- cup of blessing- blood of Christ; bread we break- body of Christ vs. 17- collectively we are all partakers of one bread vs. 18- In Jewish feast, everyone shared in the meat, priest, the one offering, so all were partakers of the altar vs. 19- is the idol or that offered to an idol anything vs. 20- the Gentiles sacrificed to devils; Paul didn’t want them to fellowship devils

13 1 Corinthians 10 vs. 21- you can’t be a partaker of the Lord’s table and the table of devils vs. 22- don’t provoke the Lord to jealousy vs. 23- it may be lawful, but is it expedient, does it edify vs. 24- is it helpful to you, to another vs. 25- whatever is sold in the market eat and don’t question for conscience sake

14 1 Corinthians 10 vs. 26- the earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it
vs. 27- if an unbeliever ask you to a feast and you go, eat whatever is set before you without question because of your conscience vs. 28- if you are told this meat was offered to idols, don’t cause the weak to sin, do not eat it for conscience sake, everything is the Lord’s vs. 29- not your conscience, but the other person, even though you have the right vs. 30- can I be denounced; I gave thanks

15 1 Corinthians 10 vs. 31- eat, drink, whatever you do, do all to the glory of God vs. 32- do not cause Jews, Greeks, or church of God to stumble vs. 33- Paul said he tries to please all in everything he does, not seeking his own profit, but the profit of many that they might be saved Chapter 10
