This change in the nature of toys is exemplified by the changes that have taken place in one of the oldest and most universal of human toys; dolls

4. An example of this aspect is the worlds most famous doll: Barbie
Invented in 1957, she adapted thoughout the years and because of this remained incredibly popular.

5. Mr Potato Head Making your own doll
Mr. Potato Head is an American toy consisting of a plastic model of a potato which can be decorated with a variety of plastic parts that can attach to the main body.
The toy was invented and developed in 1949, and first manufactured and distributed by Hasbro in 1952.

6. In the early 1950s, Brooklyn-born toy inventor George Lerner came up with the idea of inserting small, pronged body and face parts into fruits and vegetables to create a "funny face man".
