3 History A well, designed by Miklós Ybl was in its’ place in 1894
In 1895, the constructions of the Milennial Monument were begun and it was completed in 1906, for the memory of the Conquest of Hungary It was named „Hősök tere=Heroes’ Square” in 1932 During the WWII it was seriously damaged During the communist regime, its’ statues were almost fully replaced From 2002, it’s a part of the World Heritage Site (UNESCO)
