In 1895, the constructions of the Milennial Monument were begun and it was completed in 1906, for the memory of the Conquest of Hungary
It was named „Hősök tere=Heroes’ Square” in 1932
During the WWII it was seriously damaged
During the communist regime, its’ statues were almost fully replaced
From 2002, it’s a part of the World Heritage Site (UNESCO)
