1 Rock Island Rocks Baseball Hitting Mechanics
Hitting any type of pitch!!

2 Set your Feet Feet about shoulder width apart or a little wider.
On balls of your feet – equal weight on each foot (50:50).

3 Fingers With the bat resting on your shoulder fingers should both point up. This is a reminder to keep both elbows in during the swing.

4 Stance Lift bat up off of shoulder.
Front elbow must stay down along ribs, back elbow slightly up.

5 Load Load weight towards back foot.
Load is about 60:40 weight distribution towards back foot.

6 Stack One Motion into hitting stance.
Pop hips (belt buckle to P) & Bottom Hand (knob of bat) to ball.

7 Hands to Ball (Knob to ball).
Stack Hitting Slot Hands to Ball (Knob to ball).

8 Snap the bat head to center of the ball.

9 Strong – Straight front leg.
Snap Strong – Straight front leg. Ear-Hip-Knee vertically in line on the back side.

10 Arms fully extended and bat barrel elevated in front.
Power - V Arms fully extended and bat barrel elevated in front. Drive the baseball.

11 Finish The final mechanic of the swing.
Both hands on bat, over the shoulder (not around it).

13 A compact swing is a quicker swing.
Compact Front Side Keep front elbow in. A compact swing is a quicker swing.
