15 What is a weaving? Weaving is a method of fabric production in which two distinct sets of yarn or threads are interlaced at right angles to form a fabric or cloth. In other words, weaving is how people make fabric. Can you think of something that is made out of fabric?

16 Weaving can also be art. Joan Miro

21 What are the 3 parts of a weaving?
LOOM WARP WEFT

22 How is a weaving made? Traditionally, weaving is made on a loom.
This holds the yarns or threads tight. Today, weaving is done by machines in factories.

23 Challenge Create a paper weaving that reflects the colors and textures found in a local natural environment.

24 How do we make a weaving in school?
1. First we start with a loom. We will be using the paper loom we made. 2. Then we take our first weft strip and create an over under pattern. 3. Next we take another weft strip and alternate the under over pattern 4. Lastly, we continue with the weft until the weaving is full. 5. Lastly, we glue ends of weft strips in place along vertical edges of the loom.
