3 Windows Live SkyDrive SkyDrive is a way to store your files online conveniently and securely. As a user, you get 25GB of storage space, free. With Windows Live SkyDrive you can: Use 25GB of allocated storage that can be password-protected Manage all of your files, folders and subfolders (maximum 50MB per file) Share your SkyDrive folders with contacts Assign individual permissions (to read, modify, delete) Use easy “drag and drop” file sharing features For more information check out:

5 Log on to Windows Live SkyDrive
Open your browser and go to your school portal or enter Enter your Windows Live ID and click Sign in. Click the More drop-down arrow. Click SkyDrive. .

Links to other services Folders, History, and Related places Displays recent folders created and shared Activity in your network Available space on your SkyDrive

7 Create a folder Click Create folder.
In the Name field, give your new folder a name.

8 Share a folder Click the permissions for your contacts and click the permission level: Can view files (but not edit or delete) Can add files, edit details, and delete files To share the folder with contacts outside your network type in their addresses in the Individuals field. You can enter multiple addresses. Just click enter on your keyboard after you have finished entering each address. Click Next. .

Click Share with: to select with whom you want to share the folder contents. You can choose to share with: Everyone Your folder will be visible to anyone with a Windows Live account My network Your folder will be visible to people you have added to your Windows Live network Just me Your folder will not be visible to anyone Click Next.

To share with people in your network click Select people… Your folder will be visible to people you select To see who is in your network, click on the blue number.

If these are the contacts in your network you want to share the folder with click Close. Check the My network box. Select permissions from the Can view files drop-down list. .

12 Upload a file Click Select files from your computer.
Browse to where the file is located and click Open.

The file will now appear in the upload window. Repeat steps 1 and 2 to upload more than one files. When all files are ready, click the Upload button.

14 Send a link to a folder Click Let people know.
Click the To button and click contacts you would like to about the new file in the folder. Click Close.

Enter your message in the Include your own message field and click Send. A confirmation will appear. Click SkyDrive to get back to the home page.

16 Rename a folder Click the folder to rename.
Click the More drop-down arrow list and click Rename.

In the New name dialog field, enter the new name for your folder. Click Save.

18 Edit permissions of a folder
Click the More drop-down arrow list and click Edit permissions. Select the new permissions for the folder and click Save when you have finished.

19 To make a folder private
Click the More drop-down arrow list. And click Edit permissions. Click Clear these settings then click Save.

A permission status beneath the file will appear that states Shared with: Just me. Your file is now private. Click SkyDrive to get back to the home page.

22 Add a comment to a file From your SkyDrive home page click the folder where the file is located. Click the file you want to add a comment to.

Click the Options drop-down arrow list. And click Comments. Check the Yes users can post comments on my files and photos radio button. Click Save.

Click on the file. Type your comment into the Comments field and click Add.

Your comment will now appear under the file. Click SkyDrive to get back to the home page.

26 Move a file From your SkyDrive home page click the folder where the files are located. Click the file you want to move.

Click the folder you want to move the file to. To move the file to your selected folder, click Move this file into [folder name]. To move the file into a new folder, click New folder.

The file will now be in the folder. Click on SkyDrive to get back to the home page.

29 Edit a file From your SkyDrive home page click the folder where the file is located. Click the file to edit.

Click on the file and click Download. Click Open in the File Download window.

Edit the file as you wish then click Save. Enter a name for the updated file and Click Save, to save it to your PC. Make sure you give it a new file name or version number.

Delete the old file from the SkyDrive. Click OK in the Windows Internet Explorer window. Click Add files.

Click Select files from your computer. Browse to where the new file that has just been saved to your PC and click Open.

The file will now appear in the upload window. Click Upload .

35 Embed a File into a Web page or blog
Click the file you want to share a link to on a Web or Blog page. Click Share. Click Copy the HTML mark-up to the page you’d like this item to appear.

36 Embed a File into a Web page or blog
Click Allow access. Paste the markup language into your blog or Web page. For more information, see the Help documentation for your blog or Web service. When you have finished click Done.
