Seat Belt By Lisette Peres Drafting P2

2 How does a seat belt work?
The Seat belt is a pulley that stretches when one pulls it and retracts when let go. A gear located inside of the car can stop movement of the seat belt when the car is involved in a crash or a sudden stop , tightening the passenger to seat to avoid the passenger to fly out.

3 When was the seat belt invented?
The first seat belt was invented by George Cayley in 1849, but the first patent for a seat belt was in 1885 by Edward J. Claghorn. His patent was for a two point seat belt. The modern belt wasn’t created until 1959 by Nils Bohlin for Volvo.
