Homework: Your child is getting new word/picture sorts and sight words this week. Word sort words will be assessed in two weeks (October 27th). The sight words this week will be assessed on Thursday (October 19th).
If you have not paid for the upcoming fields trip please send in money as soon as possible. Thank you!

Please send in a snack for your child each day. We have time for a snack in the afternoon.

This week in language arts we are continuing our Word Study (spelling) program and learning or reviewing sight words.. Remember, your child must be able to read the sight words on the assessment this Thursday. Spelling the words is an opportunity if your child can easily read the words. We are also using a reading strategy called visualizing to help better understand characters in our reading.
We are beginning our unit on matter. This is a very fun science unit for the students. This week we will learn about matter and its properties. We will also classify items as solids, liquids, and gases.
In math, we are starting a unit on geometry. We will continue to practice problem solving, as well.
