THE UNIFORM and OVERSEAS CITIZENS ABSENTEE VOTING ACT (UOCAVA)
* Who is eligible? - Service Members, Merchant Marines, family members, and US Citizens whom reside outside the United States.

What happens to my UOCAVA eligibility when I separate?
- As our service members transistion back to the civilian world they will no longer be covered by the UOCAVA act. OH NOOOO! WHAT DO I DO!

NEVER FEAR! FVAP IS HERE! - IF THEY HAVE VOTED ABSENTEE OR LOCALLY AND ARE STAYING IN THE SAME VOTING RESIDENCE AFTER SEPARATION: STEP 1: Contact election official of status change and that you will be voting at the poll site in future elections. - IF THEY HAVE VOTED ABSENTEE OR LOCALLY AND ARE MOVING TO A NEW STATE OR COUNTY AFTER SEPARATION: STEP 1: Contact election official of status change and that you will no longer be voting in that jurisdiction. STEP 2: Complete a National Voter Registration Form
