CHRISTMAS BY: MILICA and BLANKA

SERBIAN CHRISTMAS In the Julian calendar, Christmas is celebrated on the 7th of January. Christmas is celebrated for three consecutive days starting with Christmas Day, which the Serbs call the first day of Christmas. On these days, a person greets another person by saying "Christ is Born," which should be responded to with "Truly He is Born," or in Serbian: „Hristos se rodi“ – „Vaistinu se rodi“

WHAT DO FAMILIES DO ON CHRISTMAS?
On the morning of Christmas Eve, the father of the family used to go to the forest to cut a young oak Christmas Eve tree but today people just buy one.

CEHILDRN These days children don’t go to school. They have a holiday. They go skating, throw snowballs and play many other winter games.   It is special time when children get presents from family, friends and Santa Claus, or Father Christmas.

ENGLISH CHRISTMAS Christmas is a Christian holiday that celebrates the birth of Jesus Christ. It is celebrated on the 25 of December in the Gregorian calendar. The decorating of the tree is usually a family occasion, with everyone helping. Christmas Trees were first popularised in the UK by Prince Albert, the husband of Queen Victoria. Prince Albert was German, and he thought that it would be good to take one of his ways of celebrating Christmas to England.
