5 Objective: To appreciate the rhythm of poetry; to do a choral reading of a poem
Today we are going to read a poem called “Shore.” When a poet writes a poem they want you to have a picture in your mind as you hear their poem. I will read the poem first and I want you to close your eyes and see what kind of picture you have in your mind. After I read the poem once you will read it with me on the second time. I will divide you into two groups to read different parts. Remember to read the poem with rhythm.

Remember a contraction is a shorter way of saying two words. When you have a contraction you make two words become one word.

Objective: To compose sentences that include was and were; to use correct subject verb agreement Grammar – using was and were Remember that the word was is used to tell about one person or thing. The word were is used to tell about more than one person or thing.
