In your sketchbook, draw 5 different blind contour drawings of your opposite hand. Pay extra attention to intersections of lines, undulations, wrinkles, nails, and the form of each hand. Don’t generalize – the more bumps and cracks – the better.

Refer back to your hand drawings, now with watercolor, crayon, colored pencils, etc., go back into your drawing and select a few areas to embellish with color. Try to use both positive and negative space, and remember your color theory. See what you come up with.
