Lessons from Isaiah Comfort Provided
Isaiah is a book in three sections. Chapters 1-35 are prophetic, with the theme of condemnation. Chapters are historic, and the theme is confiscation. Chapters are messianic, and the theme is consolation. Guzik November 12, 2017

Isaiah 40:1 Comfort, comfort My people, says your God.

Comfort, Comfort To sigh, i.e. Breathe strongly; by implication, to be sorry, (in a favorable sense) to pity, console Here the topic of consolation is, that their calamities were about to come to an end, in accordance with the unchanging promises of a faithful God – Albert Barnes

2 Corinthians 1:3-4 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.

The Holy Spirit John 14:16 And I will pray the Father, and He shall give you another Comforter, that He may abide with you for ever; John 14:26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, Whom the Father will send in My name, He shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

The Holy Spirit John 15:26 But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, He shall testify of Me: John 16:7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send Him unto you.

Mark 1:1-4 - The beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. As it is written in Isaiah the prophet, “Behold, I send my messenger before your face, who will prepare your way, the voice of one crying in the wilderness: ‘Prepare the way of the Lord, make his paths straight,’” John appeared, baptizing in the wilderness and proclaiming a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins.
