Sir Isaac Newton ….THE LEGEND…. He was sitting under a apple tree and thinking about the moon… and was hit by a falling apple! He suddenly understood that objects fall AND the moon orbits the earth because of gravity

3. Moon’s orbit ….the facts
Earth’s gravity pulls the Moon straight down Moon’s orbital velocity moves it PERPENDICULAR to the pull of earth’s gravity

4. Gravity is pulling the moon’s towards Earth!
The moon is falling toward earth but at the same rate that the surface of earth is curving away from the moon!

5. The Law of Universal Gravity— Everything pulls on everything
Gravity = G x (m1 x m2)/ d2 Gravitational constant G = 6.67x or What does this equation tell us?

6. Gravity is proportional to the mass of the two object( the bigger the object the greater the gravitational attraction)
Gravity is inversely proportional to the distance between the objects ( the further way the objects are from one another the lower the gravitational attraction

7. Inverse –Square Law Gravity and Distance – The force of gravity is never ZERO but its close!
