19 Second Grade Expectation
Produce 10 to15 new words for each lesson. Produce words with correct stroke orders. Can make phrases with the new words. Can make sentences with the phrases learned. Recognize and produce 510 words, (Includes words previously learned).

20 Second Grade Expectation
Be proficient in all the Pinyin forms and its rules by the end of the 3rd quarter. Be able to use the four tones and a neutral tone appropriately by the end of the 3rd quarter. Be able to blend Pinyin forms into Chinese pronunciation by the end of the 3rd quarter. Be able to decode the Chinese pronunciation into Pinyin by the end of the school year.

YCT(Youth Chinese Test) 4th Quarter Level 2 Certificate Passing point: 120/200 Test date: Late May Optional test

22 Second Grade Skill Development
Learn to use Chinese dictionary. Learn to write down their ideas in Chinese. Learn to express themselves in Chinese.

23 Areas To Be Assessed Proficiency in Pinyin, words, phrases, sentences and grade level writing. Reading comprehension. Interpersonal skills, presentation skills, and interpretation skills.

24 Anticipated Growth Be able to answer high order questions in Chinese.
Be able to describe/write a story based on the pictures. Become an independent learner.
