2 Its POPCORN TIME again! We want you to get your Scouts excited for this years sale. We also want you to show us your AWSOME kick off parties!!! Why? You Ask!! It is a proven fact that units that have a kick off party have better sales. That’s more money for your scouting program, and a bigger opportunity for your scouts to live out their Scouting Adventures!! Show us how you make your Kick Offs fun and creative for your Scouts, Get them involved, do a skit, play games Be creative Show us how you have fun, and decorate the room. Make themed food and fun popcorn crafts. Show us how you get your scouts ready to go out into there neighborhoods, local businesses, storefronts and most importantly, selling to families and friends. Show how you teach them to be confident, follow the Scout laws, and use safe selling techniques

3 Everyone Wins when you have a Kick Off Party
1. Capture your Unit’s Kick Off party. Create a Theme, Setup Training and Fun by sharing a video with us. Enter to win a prize in the Quivira Council Unit Kick Off Party Contest!! 2. Participants should upload content that shows the following a) Scout Training b) Room Setup c) Element of Fun 3. Be creative with the contest categories! Photo and video situations are entirely up to your Unit: funny, clever and silly content is welcome. Prizes 1st Place = $300 in extra unit commission. 2nd Place = $200 in extra unit commission. 3rd Place = $100 in extra unit commission. Deadline will be Monday October 2nd ,2017 .

4 Procedure for entering contest:
Official Rules The contest is open to any Quivira Council, BSA registered unit leader, parent or volunteer that is involved in the units 2017 Fall Popcorn Fundraiser. Winner(s) of the contest will be participants that submit the most creative and appropriate content, and meets the deadline date to be turned in. October 2nd, (No Submissions after that date) To be eligible, pictures or video must: 1. Show a Quivira Council BSA Unit engaged in a Popcorn Training Kickoff. 2. digital content (photo, or video under 60 seconds) and meet criteria showing at least one of the following: a) Scout Training b) Room Setup c) Element of Fun 3. Be of proper and decent subject matter, appropriate for children. Procedure for entering contest: 1. Entrants must send submissions to Parents of minor children pictured in the photo must give permission to the Contest to publish the photo if it is deemed a winner.

5 Deadline will be Monday October 2nd ,2017 .
Judging criteria: Winners will be selected on the basis of: 1. Creativity, originality and instructive value of the photos and/or videos. 2. Clarity and quality of content. 3. The "smile quotient"— does it make the judges smile. Deadline: Entries must be submitted no later than 5:00 p.m, Monday October 2nd,2017. Decisions of the Quivira Council Kernel and the contest judges are final. Prizes: 1st Place = $300 in extra unit commission. 2nd Place = $200 in extra unit commission. 3rd Place = $100 in extra commission. Deadline will be Monday October 2nd ,2017 .
