Facts about spiders Spiders have eight legs.
They can be different colours, but are mostly black. Spiders can live in the house or in the garden, in silvery webs. Spiders like to eat flies which they catch in their webs. In the UK spiders are harmless, but some people are afraid of them. Are you scared of spiders? back

Facts about butterflies
Butterflies have six legs, and can taste their food through their feet. A butterflies wings are symmetrical. Butterflies live in your garden in the summer months. Butterflies feed on sweet liquid, like the juice from fruit. You can make butterfly hands by painting each hand the same and linking your thumbs together. back

Facts about snails Snails have no legs, but they have one foot.
Their shells have different spiral patterns. They live inside a shell which they carry on their back. They like to eat vegetables like lettuce and cabbage. Snails move very slowly, but are good climbers. back

Facts about ladybirds Ladybirds have 6 legs.
They have red wings with black spots on them. Ladybirds live in gardens and parks in the summer. They hibernate in the winter. They eat greenfly and other garden pests. Different types of ladybirds have a different number of spots. The biggest number of spots on a ladybird is 22. back

Facts about worms Earthworms have no legs.
They are brown and have rings around them. They live in the ground. They eat soil which then goes back into the earth and makes it soft. Earthworms are very good for the soil because they burrow and make tunnels which lets the air through. Go to activities back
