2. Background information
The flagship hotel Centara Grand & Bangkok Convention Centre at CentralWorld opened its curtain in December 2008 and attached to CentralWorld Complex. It is the sixth largest shopping complex in the world.
The hotel and convention centre is located within the central business district able to accommodate up to 5,000 delegates in a single pillar-less environment, while smaller groups can use the highly flexible Lotus Suites to create their ideal event space.
With a dedicated and experienced team of professionals to handle every detail, the centre is the ideal venue for international and regional conventions, exhibitions, conferences and multi-media presentations.
Centara Grand is a five-star hotel with 505 guestrooms and suites. Guests opting for accommodation on one of the nine Executive Club floors also enjoy the facilities of the World Executive Club, which covers the entire 51st floor.
The hotel has nine innovative restaurants and bars, providing plenty of opportunities for delegates to gather during and after the event. On the very top of the hotel, at the 55th level, Fifty Five is a fine dining steak and wine restaurant while Red Sky is an urban rooftop bistro with indoor and outdoor seating and a Martini Bar. Linked by their two-storey glass-walled wine cellar, both restaurants provide a memorable setting for corporate and private events, and incentive parties.
Another spectacular setting for receptions and parties is the Lotus Garden and Sun Terrace, an outdoor function space at the poolside that provides an unforgettable background of the city skyline.
The centre recently awarded by Green Globe program with Silver status is aiming for the highest standards in green tourism by operating CEPPER the environmental program.
