3. Mission Statement & Goals:
To provide a mobile platform for performing scientific research on uninhabited terrain.
To create a deployment system that can reliably deliver a rover to a landing site.
To have a reliable rover from which data can be collected.
To create a modular rover and “box” that can be adjusted to fit a given experiment.

4. DESIGN Payload Two connected semi-independent payload boxes

5. Command Payload Criteria for Opening Timer elapsed 3 hours.
Accelerometer measures 1 G for 10 seconds.
Temperature measured at or above designated surface temperature for 10 seconds.
Sonar detects accepted distance for 10 seconds.
If values not acceptable, program resets.
