1 Student Code of Conduct and Pupil Progression Plan Session

2 Promotion to 2nd grade Student’s classroom work, observations, tests, district and state assessments, and other relevant information in terms of appropriate instructional goals established by the Florida Department of Education’s Next Generation Sunshine State Standards or Florida Standards M.A.P.S. (Measure of Academic Progress) 3 x a year Student masters the performance standards approved by the State Board of Education. FSUS’s curriculum, instruction and assessment system is aligned with FL State Standards Report card grades showing 70% or higher = passing Cpalms.org

3 If your child’s teacher has concerns:
Parents will be notified in writing: If a student’s progress is below the standards established for the student’s grade placement. If the student is not progressing satisfactorily in any subject. If the student is being considered for retention. When the current and proposed supplemental remedial services are being provided to the child.

5 Behavior Class Dojo Students are expected to follow all school and class rules. Teachers expect students to follow directions the first time they are asked. Consequences are given at teacher’s discretion (i.e, no recess, lose a dojo point, parent contact) If students repeatedly break rules the parents will be notified in writing. The next step is a referral. We have a zero tolerance policy for physical altercations and bullying.

6 Drop off and pick up Students dropped off between 7:00 – 7:50 should report to cafeteria Students dropped off after 7:55 should report to class Students cannot be picked up without a car tag! Though it may seem inconvenient this is to keep your children safe. Pickup line is from 2:45 – 3:15 You CANNOT get out of your car to open doors, buckle, etc. The line must keep moving! Children left after 3:15 will go to EDEP. Pick them up in café. ($10 fee)

7 Dress Code Sneakers No spaghetti straps (at least 3 finger wide straps) Cover midriff Shorts, skirts, and dresses to finger tips

8 Field trips 9/22 – In house Animal Tales
10/18 and 10/19 – Painted Pony 1/10 – In House Funomena (HTHT) 3/5 – Challenger Center 4/4 – In house Newton in a Nutshell (HTHT) 4/11 – YAT Charlie Brown 5/5 – Bowling at Capital Lanes Parents are invited to all off campus trips (except YAT!) HOWEVER, you must be cleared through the office 24 – 72 hours ahead of the trip. Each trip requires clearance papers

9 Special Areas & the Library
Please contact special area teachers directly if you have a question or concern. Spanish – Maestra Helena Art – Mrs. Platt Music – Mrs. Hirai & Ms. Eckhart (maternity sub) Character Ed – Ms. Lee Digital Ed – Ms. Moir Each teacher has a different library visit policy. If you have questions or concerns about a lost book please contact the librarian directly.

10 Attendance Policy Tardy – 8:01 am.
10 or more tardies in a 9 weeks will be referred to a child study team for attendance Pick up before 2:35 is a “tardy” Absences can be prearranged with administration. Your situation may or may not meet the school’s criteria for “excused”. A student who accumulates 5 absences within the calendar month the student is referred to a child study team for attendance. May result in attendance contract.

11 Visiting Campus You MUST check in at the front office for a visitor’s badge to be on campus. This includes lunch, volunteering, or other reasons.
