1 Out of the Shadows Part 2

2 Road Map All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work. (2nd Timothy 3:16)

3 God Goggles I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, so that you will know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints… (Ephesians 1:18)

4 Who? What? Where? When? Why? How?
Your basic tools: Who? What? Where? When? Why? How?

5 The Bible: conenant redemption
The first part… The second part… For the law, having a shadow of the good things to come, and not the very image... (Hebrews 10:1)  So let no one judge you … regarding a festival … which are a shadow of things to come, but the substance is of Christ.” (Colossians 2:16-17)

6 Pictures of redemption:
Leviticus 23

7 … (at) the reading of the old covenant the veil remains unlifted
… (at) the reading of the old covenant the veil remains unlifted... because it is removed in Christ. But to this day whenever Moses is read, a veil lies over their heart; but whenever a person turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. (2nd Corinthians 3:14-16)

8 "holy convocation" = rehearsal
The feasts in Leviticus 23 were typological (symbolic). 4 spring festivals & 3 fall festivals "feasts" = appointed times "holy convocation" = rehearsal

9 “And now I am standing trial for the hope of the promise made by God to our fathers; the promise to which our twelve tribes hope to attain, as they earnestly serve God night and day. And for this hope, O King, I am being accused by Jews. Why is it considered incredible among you people if God does raise the dead?” (Acts 26:6-8)

10 O death, where is thy sting. O grave, where is thy victory
O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law (1st Corinthians 15:55-56)

11 “…for I am wearing this chain for the sake of the hope of Israel
“…for I am wearing this chain for the sake of the hope of Israel.” (Acts 28:20)

12 The Bible: conenant redemption Substance Shadows The Old Covenant
The New Covenant Substance Shadows

13 “…He will crush your head...” (Genesis 3:15)
…having spoiled principalities and powers... triumphing over them in it (the cross)… (Colossians 2:15)

14 The LORD said to Himself, “I will never again destroy every living thing, as I have done.” (Genesis 8:21) …to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever. (Ephesians 3:21)

15 “I will make you a great nation
“I will make you a great nation... and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed." (Genesis 12:2-3) Now the promises were spoken to Abraham and to his seed. He does not say, “And to seeds,” as referring to many, but rather to one, “And to your seed,” that is, Christ (Galatians 3:16)

16 “And so, because he (David) was a prophet and knew that God had sworn to him with an oath to seat one of his descendants on his throne, he looked ahead and spoke of the resurrection of the Christ… For it was not David who ascended into heaven, but he himself says: ‘The Lord said to my Lord, “Sit at My right hand until I make Your enemies a footstool for Your feet.”’ (Acts 2:29-35)

17 “...In the days of those kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom which will never be destroyed, and that kingdom will not be left for another people; it will crush and put an end to all these kingdoms, but it will itself endure forever.” (Daniel 2:44)

18 "The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel." (Mark 1:15)

19 “Seventy weeks have been decreed for your people and your holy city, to finish the transgression, to make an end of sin, to make atonement for iniquity, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal up vision and prophecy and to anoint the most holy.” (Daniel 9:24)

20 “Seventy weeks have been decreed for your people and your holy city, to finish the transgression, to make an end of sin, to make atonement for iniquity, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal up vision and prophecy and to anoint the most holy.” (Daniel 9:24)

21 “Seventy weeks have been decreed for your people and your holy city, to finish the transgression, to make an end of sin, to make atonement for iniquity, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal up vision and prophecy and to anoint the most holy.” (Daniel 9:24)

22 “Seventy weeks have been decreed for your people and your holy city, to finish the transgression, to make an end of sin, to make atonement for iniquity, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal up vision and prophecy and to anoint the most holy.” (Daniel 9:24)

23 “Seventy weeks have been decreed for your people and your holy city, to finish the transgression, to make an end of sin, to make atonement for iniquity, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal up vision and prophecy and to anoint the most holy.” (Daniel 9:24)

24 “Seventy weeks have been decreed for your people and your holy city, to finish the transgression, to make an end of sin, to make atonement for iniquity, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal up vision and prophecy and to anoint the most holy.” (Daniel 9:24)

25 “Seventy weeks have been decreed for your people and your holy city, to finish the transgression, to make an end of sin, to make atonement for iniquity, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal up vision and prophecy and to anoint the most holy.” (Daniel 9:24)

26  “Do not think that I came to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I did not come to abolish but to fulfill. For truly I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest letter or stroke shall pass from the Law until all is accomplished.” (Matthew 5:17-18)

27 Now He said to them, “These are My words which I spoke to you while I was still with you, that all things which are written about Me in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms must be fulfilled.”

28 Then He opened their minds to understand the Scriptures, and He said to them, “Thus it is written, that the Christ would suffer and rise again from the dead the third day, and that repentance for forgiveness of sins would be proclaimed in His name to all the nations, beginning from Jerusalem... (Luke 24:44-47)
