Edge system OOB auto-discovers config server, establish secure connection, download EdgeX
Install, bring-up, and orchestration of EdgeX microservices
On-board devices, connection to edge system, load corresponding device microservices, populate meta data DB
Bring up management agent to monitor and manage microservices, devices and edge system
Metrics, actions and alerts based on Managed Objects abstraction
Components show up on management UI
Application metrics transfer for data analytics and storage
Lifecycle management for software updates and security patching, done through edge system and touches microservices, devices, and edge system

e.g.: make, model, serial number, time in service
Metrics: [(name, units, interval, precision, accuracy, functionID), …]
Actions: [(name, functionID, [name: parameter type, …]), …]
Alerts: MO-UUID, metric name, value that caused alert
