What is the solution? THE HEALTH LITERACY PROBLEM: Diabetes patients dont return for follow-up appointments The doctors use words the patients dont understand and the patients wont ask them to explain because they think they ought to know or they have tried in the past and the doctor sometimes cant explain it in understandable terms. Doctors have a hard time bringing it down to an average persons level of understanding.
