BATTLE TASKS 1.0 DEPLOY THE UMT EXTERNAL Fill UMT Personnel & Equipment deficiencies through DIV CH/G-3 Close out Installation Responsibilities Assist Pusher UMT During SRP Provide Predeployment Briefing Assist FRG Provides RS to a CFM deployment Assumes Rear Detachment RS Coverage in the event UMT deploys. Monitors N-Hour sequence , coordinates RS plan throughout N-hour sequence and completes all required tasks. STANDARDS Execute UMT TACSOP and Deployment SOP Integrate with division, installation, Rear Detachment UMT and Rear Detachment CDR Maintain Equipment and Supply Readiness Conduct Air, Rail, and Water Load Operations Review or Revise TACSOP Write Tab D INTERNAL Prepare vehicle and Connex plan and coordinate movement of vehicle, supplies and equipment Prepare/Update Religious Preference Profile Identify Local Religious and Cultural Distinctions Maintain OPSEC Report to higher HQ UMT (See XXX UMT TACSOP) Execute RSP Country Religious Study/Briefing Maintain 90 DOS - Establish & Execute RD RSP - Inventory and load equipment - Transfer garrison RS responsibilities - Conduct & participate in the MDMP -- Country study -- RSP appendix to Annex I (Both TF and RD UMT coverage plan) -- Secure TF religious profile - Conduct Risk Assessment - Assist S1 with FRG pre-deployment briefing CONDITIONS Upon notification, the XXXX UMT is focused on two main contingencies: Combat Force Module (CFM) Religious Support and/or the deployment of XXXX UMT or subordinate UMT. The UMT uploads vehicle, equipment and personnel in preparation for movement, follows Division N-hour sequence and provides religious support throughout the phases of deployment.

2.0 Provide Comprehensive Religious Support
MISSION ESSENTIAL TASK BATTLE TASKS 2.0 Provide Comprehensive Religious Support EXTERNAL Minister to: battle fatigued, wounded, and dying soldiers, replacements, mass casualties, and other UMTs on the battle field. Monitor enforcement of Rules of Engagement (ROE) and Laws of War based on daily reports and critical situation reports of subordinate UMTs. Provide ministry in an NBC environment. Situational Awareness: Monitor and provide Religious Support to attachments and all units operating within UMTs AO. Be prepared for casualty ministry. Provide Religious Support to EPWs and displaced civilians within our area of operations as the mission permits. STANDARDS Perform or Provide Worship and Sacramental Opportunities Conduct Pastoral or Crisis Counseling Provide Combat Stress Control Perform Emergency Religious Support to Casualties Prepare for Continuous Operations (CONOPS) and Sustained Operations (SUSOPS) Perform all CTT Skills to Standard INTERNAL Maintain situational awareness and plan for future RS requirements. Establish and maintain communication with subordinate, adjacent, and higher UMTs. Establish and assist in engaging with local religious and ethnic leaders. UMT moves tactically Prepare for integration of incoming National Guard/Reserve personnel. Prepare for RS during Reception, Staging, Onward movement and Integration (RSOI) - Establish & Execute RD RSP - Inventory and load equipment - Transfer garrison RS responsibilities - Conduct & participate in the MDMP -- Country study -- RSP appendix to Annex I (Both TF and RD UMT coverage plan) -- Secure TF religious profile - Conduct Risk Assessment - Assist S1 with FRG pre-deployment briefing CONDITIONS The XXXX Unit Ministry Team (UMT) will provide a comprehensive program of religious support to the soldiers, family members, and civilians of unit and other authorized personnel during periods of crises, war, and peace. Comprehensive religious support plan includes pastoral acts, ceremonies, sacraments, ordinances, worship, battle fatigue interventions, educational opportunities, moral, ethical and pastoral counseling and visits performed or provided for by the UMT and advice to the command. Stress and fatigue are closely linked to deployment demands which lead to soldier, team, and unit performance degradation. CONOPS – Combat continuing at the same high intensity level for extended periods. Soldiers may have opportunity for sleep, but may be fragmented or brief. SUSOPS – Units engage in CONOPS with no opportunity for the unit to stand down and very little opportunity for sleep. RSOI – Critical link between deployment and combat operations; focuses on expediting unit’s integration into theater force structure and readying them for combat.

Move tactically and Battle Track (Follow UMT TTPs and Stand Down and Stand to procedures) Active Force Protection Attend rehearsals Provide religious support to casualties Be prepared for casualty ministry Coordinate movement with unit (use GOTWA) Locate at XXXXX, but monitor flow of battle and be prepared to move if necessary Coordinate with S-2/S-4 for safe routes and CLPs and sustainment coordination meeting times and locations STANDARDS UMT provides/performs/coordinates Religious Support to support units in offense UMT conducts active force protection Situational Awareness is high priority INTERNAL Develop/implement concept of RS Coordinate UMT Casualty replacement Prepare/update graphics overlay Sleep plan – watch for fatigue/sleep debt Report to higher HQs UMT Update AXP/LRP locations RS for attachments and area units Be prepared to jump with unit Fighting position (Active Force Protection) Plan for future operations CONDITIONS XXXX UMT coordinates religious support for all units in task organization as forces prepare for offensive operations.

Move tactically and Battle Track (Follow UMT TTPs and Stand Down and Stand to procedures) and coordinate movement with ALOC (use GOTWA) Active Force Protection Religious Support to casualties Prepare for integration of replacements and attachments; prepare for cross-leveling of UMT assets due to losses Attend rehearsals Be prepared for casualties Locate at XXXX, but monitor flow of battle and be prepared to move if necessary STANDARDS UMT provides/performs/coordinates Religious Support to support units in defense UMT conducts active force protection Situational Awareness is high priority INTERNAL Develop/publish/implement concept of RS Coordinate UMT Casualty replacement Provide pastoral care to subordinate UMTs Report to higher HQs UMT Update AXP/LRP locations RS for attachments and area units Be prepared to jump with unit Fighting position and “bug-out routes” (Active Force Protection) Plan for future operations CONDITIONS XXXX UMT coordinates religious support for all units in AO as forces prepare for defensive operations. In the mobile defense, battalions may be in offensive, defensive and retrograde operations. In area defense, all units are engaged in defensive operations.

3.0 Advise Command on Matters of Religion, Morals, Ethics and Morale
MISSION ESSENTIAL TASK BATTLE TASKS 3.0 Advise Command on Matters of Religion, Morals, Ethics and Morale EXTERNAL Monitor morale of units in AO Monitor Religious Support in AO (especially attachments and low profile units – ADA, Signal etc.) Report Rules of Engagement (ROE) and Law of War (LOW) violations based on daily reports and Critical Incident Reports (CIR) to Chain of Command, military police, Inspector General, Judge Advocate or Senior Chaplain Coordinate/integrate with Civil Affairs Teams IAW higher UMT TACSOP, establish and assist in engaging local religious and ethnic leaders Identify any religious shrines, cemeteries etc. in AO that may have an adverse affect on combat operations STANDARDS Advise Command on matters of religion, morals, ethics and morale Advise Command in matters pertaining to Information Operations (IO) and Civil Military Operations Center (CMOC) Provide support for Commander for the spiritual needs of the unit INTERNAL Maintain contact with subordinate UMTs to monitor morale in respective units Maintain accuracy and timeliness of daily reports. - Establish & Execute RD RSP - Inventory and load equipment - Transfer garrison RS responsibilities - Conduct & participate in the MDMP -- Country study -- RSP appendix to Annex I (Both TF and RD UMT coverage plan) -- Secure TF religious profile - Conduct Risk Assessment - Assist S1 with FRG pre-deployment briefing CONDITIONS XXXX UMT provides professional support to commander and staff on the matters of religion, morals, ethics and morale as effected by religion; assesses unit climate by visiting soldiers and provides advice on the religious needs of soldiers and families; in combat operations, advises commander on indigenous religions and provides religious support to soldiers.

4.0 Sustainment Operations
MISSION ESSENTIAL TASK BATTLE TASKS 4.0 Sustainment Operations EXTERNAL Coordinate UMT activities with Staff Identify and resource subordinate UMTs equipment/supply personnel needs to include coordination for denominational religious support (priest, Imam, rabbi etc.) Provide worship opportunities, memorial services and other sacramental programs; conduct Critical Incident Stress Debriefing and provide battle fatigue support; provide pastoral and grief counseling Integration of replacements Provide Religious Support Reports to XXX chaplain section as required per XXX UMT TACSOP. STANDARDS Establish and Maintain communications with subordinate, area and higher UMTs Conduct Staff/Administrative Actions Coordinate UMT re-supply/equipment actions Be prepared for reconstitution and recuperation planning (Unit and UMT) Reestablish religious programs (METT-TC driven) INTERNAL Monitor rest and recuperation activities Monitor location of area and higher HQ UMTs and ensure higher UMT receives XXXX UMT’s concept of religious support Conduct equipment PMCS Maintain 90 DOS Self-monitor emotional/spiritual health of UMT - Establish & Execute RD RSP - Inventory and load equipment - Transfer garrison RS responsibilities - Conduct & participate in the MDMP -- Country study -- RSP appendix to Annex I (Both TF and RD UMT coverage plan) -- Secure TF religious profile - Conduct Risk Assessment - Assist S1 with FRG pre-deployment briefing CONDITIONS Reconstitution is the process of replenishing units which have been decimated to the extent they are no longer combat effective. This process includes replacement of personnel and equipment, rest and recuperation.

5.0 RE-DEPLOYMENT OPERATIONS
MISSION ESSENTIAL TASK BATTLE TASKS 5.0 RE-DEPLOYMENT OPERATIONS EXTERNAL Provide redeployment briefings to soldiers and coordinate with Rear Detachment Chaplain for Reunion briefings for families Provide worship opportunities, memorial services and other sacramental programs; conduct Critical Incident Stress Debriefing and provide battle fatigue support; provide pastoral and grief counseling Assist FRGs with reunion activities Re-establish garrison religious programs Coordinate with necessary Staff or agencies (S-1, CFS, ACS, Combat Stress Control, Rear Detachment) for support STANDARDS Prepare UMTs and units for return to home station Develop/publish/execute concept of religious support Conduct Air, Rail, and Water Load Operations Prepare families for return of Soldiers Reconstitute for future missions INTERNAL Prepare UMT equipment and personnel; upload for return to home station Develop and execute religious support plan Report to higher HQs UMT on re-deployment status Reconstitute for future missions; clean, repair and secure equipment; requisition supplies; reestablish stock levels; awards; NCOER/OERs; AARs/Lessons learned Take care of self and family - Establish & Execute RD RSP - Inventory and load equipment - Transfer garrison RS responsibilities - Conduct & participate in the MDMP -- Country study -- RSP appendix to Annex I (Both TF and RD UMT coverage plan) -- Secure TF religious profile - Conduct Risk Assessment - Assist S1 with FRG pre-deployment briefing CONDITIONS Postconflict operations are the transition from hostilities to restoration of peacetime activities.They involve reconstitution and redeployment planning. UMTs transition from combat to redeployment operations. UMT uploads vehicles, equipment and personnel in preparation for movement to home station. Provides religious support (with a focus on re-deployment issues) in support of re-deployment operations both in theater and at home station.
