We are Astronauts Learning Objectives: I can open Scratch
Support target: Once children have reached this screen, tell/show them how to click on the Bookmark Star, top right. It should then show this screen (folder – Other bookmarks) and click Done. Starting in Scratch 1. Open Google Chrome
2. Type in Scratch and choose Scratch.mit.edu – Scratch Imagine, Program ,Share 3. Click on Create Explain the stage, backgrounds and the sprites (characters). I can edit the Backdrop 1. Right click on the sprite and click delete.
2. Find Stage Backdrop 3. Now click on the paint brush in New Backdrop.

I can create a new backdrop
Undo arrow 1. Remember what we did in Paint? 2. Use the fill tool (jug) and select a colour for your space backdrop. Ellipse is the circle tool 3. Use the paint brush tool and choose white. Create white dots for stars in your sky. 4. Use the empty ellipse tool to draw a circle for the earth. Don’t make it too big. 5. Use the fill tool or paintbrush to colour your earth. Filled and empty ellipses Slide line width tool to make the paintbrush bigger.

I can save my new backdrop
Click on File 2. Choose Download to your computer. 3. Click on Documents, find your file and open it. 4. In the title box, type in Space and your name then click Save. At home you may need to ask for a place to save your file. e.g. Space Mrs Bartlett
