It allows students to call and leave a message for the teacher.
Google Voice can also be used to send text messages.

Students do NOT need a Google account for this. They just need a phone.
Teachers can set up the account so that their own personal phone is NOT connected.
Consider setting up a separate Gmail account
All voic s are recorded, sent to the Gmail account, and can be heard by clicking on the message.
