3 Human Rights and Children Document Analysis Activity
Choose two of the following topics: Child Marriage Child Soldiers Child Slavery For your two topics, you will look at and analyze four documents. Two of the four documents must be articles. The other two you choose might be fact sheets, infographics, etc. (or you can do an additional article). Make sure you gather textual evidence on your document analysis sheets – in other words, use exact quotes from the document as your answers, don’t just put it in your own words.

Please get out your packet from yesterday and open up to a fresh document analysis sheet. We are going to watch two video clips; you will combine these two videos and look at them as one document.

Yesterday you chose two of the following topics: Child Marriage Child Soldiers Child Slavery Remember: you must analyze four documents for each topic. Two of the four documents must be articles. For each response, you must include at least three pieces of evidence to support your answer. Your evidence should come directly from your document analysis sheets. DO ONLY THE TWO TOPICS THAT YOU CHOSE: How is forced child marriage a violation of human rights? How is forced child warfare a violation of human rights? How is child labor a violation of human rights? ANSWER BOTH OF THESE: How do the human rights of children in other areas of the world differ from those in America? Personal Reflection: What have you learned that will stick with you?
