4 Olympia Experience Over 3200 students. A + B Lunch: 28 minutes each.
50 minute classes with 5 minute class changes and music to move to! Clubs, Freshman Socials, Pep rallies, Spirit Week, Sports, and the list goes on…

5 Florida Virtual School: Online classes accessible year round.
High School Credit 1 Credit = 2 Semesters, or 1 Year. If you fail classes and lose credit it becomes hard to catch up. Florida Virtual School: Online classes accessible year round. Summer School

6 General Graduation Requirements
All Olympia Students Must Earn 24 credits in specific areas Maintain a 2.0 un-weighted cumulative GPA Earn Level 3 or above on 10th grade FSA Reading Complete 1 online course

7 OHS Specific Graduation Requirements
4 English Credits English 1, 2, 3, 4. 4 Math Credits 1 Credit must be in Algebra 1. 1 Credit must be in Geometry. Must pass the Algebra 1 FSA. 3 Social Studies Credits 1 credit World History, 1 credit American History, ½ credit American Government, and ½ credit Economics with Financial Literacy. 3 Science Credits 1 Credit must be in Biology. 1 Fine Art/Practical Art Credit Many options, including (but not limited to!): Career electives, Draw, Art, Chorus, Theatre, etc. 1 HOPE Credit Stands for Health Opportunities through Physical Education. Can be taken on FLVS. 8 Elective Credits Includes any courses that do not meet other requirements. World Language is a great option! Online Course Can be either a ½ credit or 1 credit course. 24.0 Credits Required

9 Freshman Seminar Available for all 9th graders.
Worth 1.0 Elective Credit. Focus is on college and career prep. Topics include: Study and test-taking skills Organizational skills Critical Thinking skills Writing skills

10 AP Human Geography For students that earn 4 or 5 on the FSA Reading.
Possible college credit as a freshman! Expect to study or do homework for an hour or more a night. No late work accepted. A LOT of reading. Course introduces students to the systematic study of patterns and processes that have shaped human understanding, use, and alteration of the earth’s surface.

11 PLTW Biomedical Science
For students that have completed at least Algebra 1 and a high school science. Block class: 2 periods of your day. Earn 1 Biology and 1 Elective credit Class topics include human medicine, physiology, genetics, microbiology, and public health. Lots of technology and real world application!

12 Honors Classes More GPA points, More Work
Honors classes affect your weighted GPA Students must be eligible – good grades and test scores Example: To take Biology honors, you must currently be taking High School math and science

14 APEX Advanced Placement Experience Scholars Academy
Rigorous, comprehensive, 4 year curriculum for academically talented students. Includes at least 8 AP courses. Students are selected at the end of 8th grade. Selection is based on student application, teacher recommendation, standardized testing, and student essay.

17 How Do I Register? Read your selection sheet and the course description sheet carefully. Check appropriate boxes for core academic subjects and your elective interests. Have your parents sign the form. Return the completed form to your teacher. Meet with OHS guidance counselors in two weeks to discuss your Freshman year!
