1 Heavy Duty Diesel Engine Emissions
Western Europe: Euro 6 Israel: EPA 2013 / Euro 6 Russia / CIS: Euro 5 South Korea: Euro5 US & Canada: EPA 2013 Japan: Local regs Mexico: EPA 2004 / Euro 4 2018: EPA 2010 / Euro 6 Turkey: Euro 6 China: CN 4 (Euro 4) This slide has been updated to reflect the changes that have taken place globally. The countries highlighted in yellow reflect recent significant changes. Mexico regulations remain unchanged from 2012 and currently allow EPA 2004 and Euro 4 compliant engines. In 2018, Mexico will require EPA 2010 or Euro 6 compliant engines. Colombia, one of the largest markets in South America requires Euro 4 emissions. Chile currently requires Euro 5 emissions. Brazil remains unchanged from last year and is currently Euro 5. There are no published dates for implementing Euro 6. China transitioned to Euro 4 in the middle of The implementation of Euro 5 remains undecided at this time. Russia requires Euro 5. While each country has different regulations, we have a portfolio of EPA and Euro engines to meet your global needs. Taiwan: Euro 4 Colombia Euro 4 Saudi Arabia: Euro 2 Peru: EPA 98 / Euro 3 Brazil: Proconve P7 (Euro 5) India: Major Cities : Bharat 4 (Euro 4) Other: Bharat 3 (Euro 3) Chile: Euro 5 Australia / New Zealand: Euro 5 / EPA 2007 Africa: Euro 2 / EPA 98 S. Africa only 1/2014: EPA 2004 / Euro 4 Argentina: Euro 4 1

2 Diesel Emission Standards
This graph displays the difference between the EPA and Euro emission standards. You will see particulate matter on the X-axis and NOX on the vertical axis. With each successive emission standard the emission levels have been reduced. 2

Exceeding the sulphur limits may result in failures of the emission systems depending on what is installed and can cause the engine to derate. Engines shown with unlimited sulphur levels do not have emission systems. * On Board Diagnostics 3
