What is your ambition for PP-eligible children? Is PP policy part of school development plan and part of overall school improvement strategy? Are governors involved in PP policy making? What are the barriers to learning for PP students? What are your desired outcomes and success criteria? What is the balance of your existing PP expenditure? Evaluate effectiveness of existing strategies Change less effective strategies and replace with more effective Look at top strategies in EEF Toolkit and decide which to adopt

Have you got buy-in from ALL staff? Can you improve professional networking of staff? Do you drill down into the data to identify ‘Even Better If’ PP pupils? Are interventions put in place rapidly? Does your curriculum maximise benefit for PP-eligible pupils? Check school website for good audit trail: from PP expenditure to impact

5 The way forward: Ways of working together in the Tees Valley
Share essential materials for schools Build effective outward-looking network for PP champions What are the best ways of schools supporting each other on PP agenda? Do governing bodies need more support on PP agenda? Do schools need more support to raise attainment of LACs? Are other local services focused on support for schools’ work with PP-eligible pupils?
