Located on the cape cod canal in Buzzards Bay, MA (approximately 50 min from Hingham) Ranked #3 (out of 1300 colleges) on return on investment 90% retention rate from freshman to sophomore year. 70% graduation rate General Info

3 All students are required to do at least one 6 month co-op during their 4 years.
Employment rate and starting salary are high after graduating. 85% of students end up working in the private sector after graduation. 15% go into the military. This is not a requirement! General info cont

5 Application process Fill out an application on the MMA website.
Submit payment ($50), high school transcript, essay, 2 recommendations, SAT or ACT scores, and proof of US citizenship. Early action deadline is 11/1. Application process

6 There are only 7 majors: Facilities engineering, Marine transportation, Marine safety/Environmental protection, International maritime business, Energy Engineering, Marine Engineering and Emergency Management. Majors offered

7 Regiment of cadets-freshmen year is the hardest
Regiment of cadets-freshmen year is the hardest. Lots of tough rules to follow. Freshmen are not allowed to watch TV or listen to music. They cannot have a rug in their room, and only one picture (8x10). They are required to be up at 5:30am, inspection every morning at 6:30am. Closets must be organized with hangers 2 inches apart from one another. Cadets are given uniforms which must be worn at all times on campus. When going to the gym or in room, they can wear civilian clothes but they must be MMA attire (MMA sweatpants/shirt). Academy life

8 Freshmen also have study hours from 8-10pm each weeknight
Freshmen also have study hours from 8-10pm each weeknight. No phones are allowed during this period. As students progress to sophomore year they get more privileges. They can choose between a tv, rug or music. Juniors and seniors supervise the younger students and give out demerits when rules are broken. Students with demerits must face a board of their peers to determine if disciplinary action is required. Academy life cont
