2. Foundation of Government
God established government
Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God.  (Romans 13:1)
Laws are based on morality (from God)
When God is not glorified as God, law disintegrates into immorality and the defilement of mankind (Romans 1:21-31)

3. Submission to Government
“Let every soul be subject to the higher powers…” (Rom. 13:1-7)
"Put them in mind to be subject to principalities and powers, to obey magistrates, to be ready to every good work..." (Titus 3:1)
"Submit yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord's sake…” (1 Peter 2:13-17)

4. The Duty of Our Dual Citizenship
Christians of the N.T. era had no say in their government… we do.
As Americans we have the right (some say obligation) to elect our rulers
IF we vote, we must do so within the moral parameters of the Bible
When moral issues are at stake, the Christian must make them priority

Two unmistakably moral issues are at the forefront of political discussions
Christians must decide on these issues not on their political merit but on their moral merit as defined by God’s word

Abortion and Homosexuality

6. God creates life in the womb
For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother's womb. I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well. My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them Psalms 139:13-16 (KJV)

7. The Unborn Child is Living Soul
Jer. 1:4, 5 Jeremiah was formed by God and ordained a prophet in his mother's womb
Luke 1: John was filled with the Holy Ghost from his mother's womb
Gal. 1: Paul was chosen to preach while in his mother's womb
James 2:26 Life is determined by the presence of the spirit

8. Homosexuality
“You shall not lie with a male as with a woman. It is an abomination.”  (Lev. 18:22)
Paul speaks of homosexuals as “committing what is shameful” (Rom. 1:26-27)
He then warns that “those who practice such things are deserving of death, not only do the same but also approve of those who practice them.”

9. Romans 1:32(NKJV) Who, knowing the righteous judgment of God, that those who practice such things are deserving of death, not only do the same but also approve of those who practice them.
What does your vote say about your approval of homosexuality or abortion? If you VOTE for pro-homosexual or pro-abortion candidates, you affirm your approval of their immorality!

10. Guilty by Association
1 Timothy 5:22(NKJV) Do not lay hands on anyone hastily, nor share in other people’s sins; keep yourself pure.
2 John 1:10-11(NKJV) If anyone comes to you and does not bring this doctrine, do not receive him into your house nor greet him;  for he who greets him shares in his evil deeds.

11. One Nation Under God?

17. The Wrath of God’s Judgment
Upon an evil world, in which the righteous were saved (Gen. 6:5-8)
Upon Sodom and Gomorrah, in which the righteous were saved (Gen. 18:20-33)
Upon the nation of Israel, to bring them to repentance (2 Chron. 7:19-22)
Coming judgment upon the world

21. Pray for Righteousness
"I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty."  (1 Timothy 2:1-2)
Pray that God will raise up those who will lead the nation in righteousness
