Sit in a chair with your feet up.

5 Relax Take a warm bath

6 Escape Listen to quiet, soothing music

7 Relieve tension Shut your eyes, deep breaths, relax muscles

8 Rely on others Talk to a friend

9 Meditate Think about values, belief in a higher power

10 Use Imagery Close eyes, imagine a better place

11 Enjoy yourself Leisure activity or hobby

12 Renew yourself Learn new skills, join a club

13 Think positively Reflect on accomplishments, feel proud

14 Develop outside interests
Provide time for yourself

15 Seek assistance or delegate tasks
Ask others for help, no one can do it all

16 Avoid too many commitments
Learn to say no

17 Identifying Stress It is helpful to think about the following questions when trying to identify stress: What is the event? Why do you feel stressed? How much stress have you experienced? Do you have negative or positive feelings?

19 Remember: We can never get rid of ALL stress. Some stress is good
Long-term stress has been scientifically proven as a risk factor for heart disease.
