Work, Energy and Power WORK is defined as the change of energy from one type to another ENERGY is defined as the ability to do work. Gravitational Potential Energy is the work done lifting an object up a height in a gravitational field. Kinetic Energy is the WORK DONE accelerating a mass from rest to its velocity.
