2 Introduction Piggybacked bandwidth request is used by the AMS to request for bandwidth for the same or different connection, to which the user data in the MAC PDU is mapped to. Piggybacked bandwidth request is carried in the extended header. While it is lack of the extended header in P802.16m/D1.

3 Piggybacked bandwidth request types
Piggybacked bandwidth request shall have the following types: PBR for the same flow PBR for different flow Only one flow Multiple flows

4 Piggybacked bandwidth request for the same flow
Syntax Size (bit) Notes PBR(){ LAST 1 Last Extended Header indication: 0 = one or more extended header follows the current extended header unless specified otherwise; 1 = this extended header is the last extended header unless specified otherwise Type TBD PBR for the same flow Request type 0:aggregate, 1:incremental BR size 11 Amount of bandwidth requested Reserved variable Shall be set to zero }

5 Piggybacked bandwidth request for different flow
Syntax Size (bit) Notes PBR(){ LAST 1 Last Extended Header indication: 0 = one or more extended header follows the current extended header unless specified otherwise; 1 = this extended header is the last extended header unless specified otherwise Type TBD PBR for different flow PBRI PBR index 0: PBR for the other one flow 1: PBE for the other flows If (PBRI == 0) { FID 4 Flow identifier BR size 11 Amount of bandwidth requested } If (PBRI == 1) { N 3 Number of flows For (i=0; i<N; i++) { Request type 0:aggregate, 1:incremental Reserved variable Shall be set to zero

6 Proposed Text [Insert the following section x “piggybacked bandwidth request extended header”] x Piggybacked bandwidth request extended header (PBREH) PBREH shall be used when the AMS performs piggybacked bandwidth request. There are two types of PBR which are PBR for the same flow, and PBR for different flow. Tables xxx and Table yyy are formats for the two types.

7 Table xxx — PBREH format for PBR for the same flow
Syntax Size (bit) Notes PBR(){ LAST 1 Last Extended Header indication: 0 = one or more extended header follows the current extended header unless specified otherwise; 1 = this extended header is the last extended header unless specified otherwise Type TBD PBR for the same flow Request type 0:aggregate, 1:incremental BR size 11 Amount of bandwidth requested Reserved variable Shall be set to zero }

8 Table yyy — PBREH format for PBR for different flow
