Aniturri Eco Warriors 2014

2. Sunday, 6th April
On Sunday morning we met at Aniturri, our school, where we took the bus to Bilbao Airport. Our plane took off at 12:15 and we landed in Stuttgart at 14:00. We waited for all the other schools at the airport and at 17:00 we got on a bus with all the students to go to Öhringen, where our host families were waiting for us.

3. Sunday, 6th April
Well, Martin was waiting for us, but Micha and Julia came last.

4. Monday morning, 7th of April
After meeting at 8 o’clock, at the hall of the high school, the German teacher introduced the architect who made the school possible. The school is 4 years old, there are 90 teachers and there are 1048 pupils studying there. There are three different buildings: a, b and c. Each one has three levels (0,1,2) and the rooms and classes are named according to it.

5. There are also three different areas: the first area is for people who want to be primary teachers; in the second area, they work on agriculture; and in the third area, they study common subjects. Besides that, students have metal, wood and agriculture workshops.

6. Monday evening, 7th of April
After touring the high school, we had a long break to eat and drink something.
Afterwards, we met all the students at the “icebreaker” session, where we met each other and knew a bit better and we practised English. Then each group met together to get ready for their work and project presentations.

8. Tuesday morning,8th April
After meeting at 8 o’clock in the high school, we moved to the old part of Öhringen. There, we met the mayor and he explained us how the village had been created. Also, he informed us about the flower festival which is going to be celebrated in 2016, and the old castles that were built in the village many years ago.

9. After that, two men guided us around the old part of the town and told us about the history of Öhringen. At midday, we ate at a beautiful restaurant.

10. Tuesday Night, 8th April
Last night we went to a wine house, “Besen”, which was a mix of a bar and a restaurant. We had typical German food for dinner. We tasted the wine and we chose the best one. German people taught us some German expressions. For example: süss

11. Wednesday, 9th April
Now at 8.40 a.m. we’re on the bus going to the forest with the English, Irish and French students. In the forest, we are going to see the damages which are caused by air pollution. At 9.00a.m. we were in the forest. Mr Arnold is the man responsible of the tour in the forest. We walked in the forest for about 2km. In one part of the forest, there are fields and in the other side, there are trees. A lot of birds and different types of animals, like owls, live in the forest. Trees are more or less 23m tall and 76cm wide.

12. Nature needs 50,000 years to regenerate the energy we consume in one year.
There are a lot of kinds of trees, plants and animals. The fox digs holes in the ground to live there. It makes 3 holes a year.

13. At two o’clock we answered a questionnaire about consumerism about mobile phones and discussed what we could do to reduce energy consumption.
