DEVELOPING TEACHER LEADERS
Teachers assume critical leadership responsibilities outside their classrooms. Teachers overcome barriers and benefit from professional development similar to that provided to principal who serve as instructional leaders. Interpersonal skills of the principal for teacher leader to take on these roles.

Developing Leadership within Campus/District
Identify leadership potential and cultivate teacher interest in leadership work. Develop teacher leaders and administrative team based upon assessment of individual leadership strengths and growth needs. Make leadership actions transparent to other leaders; share information and reflective thoughts with leadership team. Observe and provide developmentally supportive one-to-one feedback on leadership efforts with developing leaders.

Developing Leadership within Campus/District
Intentionally build instructional leadership team independence and interdependence. Deploy leaders in the field; maximizing the collective instructional leadership work needed to drive school improvement goals. Align leadership work so that staff experiences consistent feedback that drives results. Work to cultivate an environment where the whole school embrace an accepts the leadership efforts of teachers and other administrator.
