BUILDING ON LAST YEARS SUCCESS!
NO PLACE FOR HATE INITIATIVE AND THE FAS STUDENT REPRESENTATIVES
16
STUDENT VOICE AND FAS Last year each FAS class elected a student representative. The FAS REPS met with administration and their opinions were used to guide the spring FAS activities. The school also became a NO PLACE FOR HATE campus through activities run through FAS. This year, we want to increase student voice in FAS and Travis High School.
17
FAS REPS FAS Student Representatives were elected in each class in January. FAS Reps became a leadership cadre. FAS Reps lead middle school visits of Travis and served as school ambassadors. FAS Reps lead the No Place For Hate initiative. FAS Reps presented the initiative to the faculty and led the Culture Collage lesson.
18
NO PLACE FOR HATE Culture Collage: All students and staff were encouraged to make a culture collage in FAS. These were united into a giant art project. Diversity Week: Students signed the Resolution of Respect and the Culture Collage was hung and displayed. Day of Silence: A lesson on the movement to support GLBT students was conducted. Many students and staff participated on Friday, April 15th.

FAS REP ROLES Your FAS REPS will be your voice in communicating your ideas/concerns about FAS. Your FAS REPS will be your voice in communicating ideas/concerns about our school to the administration. FAS REPS will serve as student ambassadors. FAS REPS will help your FAS teacher lead your FAS class
26
BRAINSTORM TIME: What qualities make someone a good leader?
Who will best represent your FAS class to the administration? Who will best represent your FAS class to the school? Who will best represent your FAS class to the community?
27
ELECTION TIME Decide on a process to elect your two FAS REPS.
You will have a primary FAS REP and a co- REP who can serve as an alternate. FAS Teachers will go to the shared drive and put the FAS REPS names onto the FAS REPS spreadsheet in the FAS folder. FAS REPS will meet with administration at least once a six weeks during FAS.
