"HKA purchased Huawei's proven cloud-desktop technologies to reduce operating costs, improve work efficiency, and accelerate the implementation of the 'Digital Aviation' development strategy." Yang Jianhong CEO of Hong Kong Airlines Challenges Scattered O&M: IT administrators had to perform many O&M tasks onsite. High energy consumption: 500 PCs consumed 500,000 kWh power each year. Poor security: User data in common PCs was stored in local space and prone to leakage or attack. Solution Huawei FusionCloud desktop cloud solution was adopted. The solution includes two Huawei E6000 servers and one Huawei S5500T storage device. Hong Kong Airlines has also chosen Huawei FusionCompute to provide the virtual OS. The hardware and software have built a virtualization platform (cloud data center) for Hong Kong Airlines desktop cloud system that supports a maximum of 500 VM users. Customer benefits: Centralized O&M and improved efficiency: Huawei FusionManager management software enables IT administrators to centrally upgrade software, update virus libraries, and provision application software. The O&M efficiency increases tenfold compared with the conventional PC office system. Energy saving and emission reduction: A conventional PC consumes 240 W or more, whereas each VM on the desktop cloud system consumes about 70 W on average. The power saving exceeds 70%. Hong Kong Airlines saves 350,000 kWh power for its 500 PCs. Enhanced security: User terminals and data are separated, and all user data is stored in the data center. The data is safeguarded by security mechanisms such as access authentication and transmission encryption. Rapid deployment and labor saving: IT administrators prepare VM templates for different types of users. When a user account is created, they can deploy the desktop environment for that user in minutes. The deployment efficiency increases by more than 30 times.

Huawei's end-to-end cloud computing solution provides virtual desktops for CODELCO headquarters and branch offices, implementing unified O&M and remote monitoring. Reduced O&M costs: TCO down by 32% (electricity bills down by 70%) and O&M efficiency up by 90% Remote data monitoring: Users in branch offices access monitoring data at headquarters directly from virtual desktops, which greatly reduces network costs. Background: 1. Inefficient maintenance and management: CODELCO used to manage and maintain PCs used by about employees. About 2000 to PCs were renewed each year. CODELCO had to pay tremendous costs for PC management and maintenance. Moreover, CODELCO had difficulty in management and maintenance as it operates branch offices in many cities and mining areas across Chile. 2. To-be-improved IT architecture: CODELCO expected to improve the existing IT architecture by leveraging cloud computing technology to address its diverse management services. The conventional IT maintenance architecture should be optimized to slash IT management costs and to allow flexible expansion and change.

SZSE saw a 60% reduction in information security issues: Transitioned to data stored in data centers instead of on PCs and implemented behavior audits and operations tracing. Challenges As IT systems and automated equipment are widely used in the medical industry, hospitals have increasing concerns on maintenance, management, and cost issues of IT devices. Madrid Hospital operates six branches, and its IT devices were independently deployed, managed, and maintained in each branch, As the branch businesses expanded and investments in IT service systems increased, this operation mode was exposed to high purchase costs, difficult maintenance, low efficiency, and potential risks on information security.
