1 Coaching Children, Youth and Adults GAA Foundation Award
This session explores in more detail the similarities and differences of working with different age groups It highlights the key areas that we as coaches need to be aware of when dealing with different individuals. Emphasise that there are differences in the needs, abilities and issues that might affect coaching children, youths and adults.

2 Coaching Children, Youths, Adults Outcomes
By the end of the module participants will be able to: Identify some of the issues and challenges of working with Children, Youths or Adults Demonstrate how to communicate with Children, Youths or Adults Identify how coaching styles may alter when working with Children, Youths or Adults By the end of the module participants will be able to Identify the issues and challenges of working with different playing groups Demonstrate how to communicate with different playing groups Identify how coaching styles and philosophies when working with different playing groups Presentation title in footer

3 Issues faced by players
Task in groups…using flipchart sheet Group 1 Draw a typical young person at 7 years of age Brainstorm words you’d associate with them Group 2 Draw a typical young person at 15 years of age Group 3 Draw a typical adult Tutor In this exercise we explore the perceptions of coaches when they deal with different age groups. Get the flip chart sheet on the wall and get the coaches on the feet Everyone must contribute Use different colored markers The tutor should tease out these perceptions by first asking them to Draw a typical person in that age group Then ask them to put any word that you’d associate with that age group around the drawing Draw all three master pieces together on the one wall and get a group member to talk through their work As tutor tease out key difference and similarities as points for discussion Presentation title in footer

7 Running, Jumping,Throwing
Discuss the words, interpret them and rank their importance when working with Catching, Passing, Kicking Group 1: 4 to 8 yrs old children Group 2: yr old youths Group 3: Adults - No 1 most important Team Play Winning Agilty, Balance, Co-ordination Skill Refinement Competition 7 a side games Physical Fitness Task in Groups of 4/ 6 Take the sheets of works and cut them up. Discuss the words and rank them in relation to the age group you have been given with the most important first Stick the words from top to bottom on the sheet Place the sheets for the three groups side by side on the wall and the tutor leads by asking one from each group to feedback on their ranking Finally the tutor asks the coaches to compare across the three sheets to identify significant differences with the age groups Tutor needs to have the words typed out – have scissors and some cello tape and blue tack 15 a side games FUN Nutrition & Hydration Practices Tactical Awareness Running, Jumping,Throwing Presentation title in footer
