Godliness Is Profitable
Have you wondered what profit (advantage) there is to being a Christian? The rest of the world lives any way they want and you live by God’s word. What profit is there in doing this? Consider five areas of your life that profit from a godly character
3
What Is Godliness? Godliness (Gr. eusebeia) means “to be devout, denotes that piety which, characterized by a Godward attitude, does that which is well-pleasing to Him” (Vines, 272)

Godliness Profits Us Physically
We will follow the godly principles that exercise self-control over our mind and body (Prov. 3:1-2; 4:10; 9:10-11; 10:27; 1 Cor. 9:27; Rom. 8:13; Eph. 4:22; 6:1-3; 1 Pet. 2:11; 3:10; 4:3-4) We will use our body for God’s use, not for harmful substances (1 Cor. 6:18-20; Rom. 12:1-2)
